Del Taco is adding two new fast food chicken offerings to their popular Buck & Under menu. The Salsa Fresca Chicken Taco contains grilled chicken and "handmade" pico de gallo inside two corn tortillas. The Chicken Roller is grilled chicken, pepper jack cheese, and green sauce in a flour tortilla.
You can try a Salsa Fresca Chicken Taco for free with any purchase by using the coupon on Del Taco's Facebook page or by playing their Memory-like matching game and signing up for their e-club. Pricing was not included in the press release, but Buck & Under pricing is divided into 59 cent, 79 cent, and $1 items.
Check out this fun, short video where YouTube user Moshe Tamssot selected the maximum number of options on a McDonald's order kiosk to create the most elaborate fast food burger ever. Extra kudos to the McDonald's staff for being such good sports (you can even see the manager taking a pic of the creation.)
I don't know why I let McDonald's trick me into trying their chicken sandwiches. They are always a disappointment to me (see here and here.) Take the new Artisan Grilled Chicken sandwich as the latest example of how McDonald's simply cannot make a decent chicken sandwich to save their lives.
I would blame myself for the blurry picture, but the sandwich tasted blurry as well. It was bland, boring, and uninspired. The fast food chain describes the chicken sandwich as "100% grilled chicken breast filet seasoned to perfection with ingredients like salt, garlic and parsley – seared in our kitchens, no preservatives added. Crisp leaf lettuce, fresh tomato, and a vinaigrette dressing. All atop our delectable artisan roll."
Just look at the number of little signs in this Del Taco fast food drive-thru. Four signs are visible but there were actually five, covering everything from new carnitas to very old, sun-faded promos for taco night. This is not counting the signs above and on the sides of the drive-thru menu. C'mon, Del Taco, If I am in your drive-thru, I am already a captive audience. You have me already.
Back in 2013 we reviewed the fried chicken version of the McDonald's Premium Chicken and Bacon McWrap fast food "sandwich." Back then, we were quite pleased with the taste and generous portions offered. In addition, the quality of the ingredients seemed high.
Flash forward to 2015, we wanted to see if the sandwich stood the test of time. So this time, I ordered the grilled chicken version.
Still arriving in the same funky Hot Pocket-style tear-away box, my McWrap was excellent. The chicken and a big slab of bacon were sticking out of the front of the wrap in what can only be described as the closest resemblance to the food stylist promotional picture of any food item I have ever ordered!
