what was it

Here's a new game for your enjoyment. Lots of fast food restaurants change hands over the years. Older stores are re-purposed into other things. I thought it might be fun to look at some of these and guess what they were originally. Here's the first one. What was it?!

dickeys pulled pork tacos

Dickey's BBQ is now offering Pulled Pork Street Tacos. The meal is $9.95 and comes with four tacos, a side item and a drink (aka Big Yellow Cup). Now that the Deal of the Day is $9.99, this meal is a smidge cheaper than any other special on a combo meal. Is it worth it? Read on.

kfc nashville hot

I finally got to try KFC's Nashville Hot Chicken and now it seems that it's leaving KFC. They were serious when they said "for a limited time." But some stores may still be selling it and the KFC website lets you sign up for a notification to "be the first to know when it's back" so I am thinking that this fast food menu item was popular on the first go-round.

Well, don't those look pretty? Who wouldn't want some crispy fries drenched in melted cheese and bacon sprinkles? That's what I thought, so I ordered some as an upgrade to my combo just to give them a test drive. They came in this nice box suggesting I was in store for something big:

whataburger chicken strips

The Whataburger Whatachick'n' Strips fast food combo packs three chicken strips, fries, Texas toast, and a drink. They are similar in size and shape to the Arby's Prime-Cut Tenders which we reviewed. Like Arby's, they are heavily breaded, almost to the point that it's more breading than chicken.
