Someburros, a small Mexican fast food restaurant chain in Arizona, has revamped its look. Same menu, just a refreshed logo and branding. I noticed their restaurants are doing some small stuff as well, such as swapping out mult-colored string lights for plain white on the patios. Happy to see the investment and also happy that I can still order my "chicken burro, enchilada style, red."

We've updated the Someburros menu, and here's a little video from the chain.

Muy bueno Someburros!

Here's the Classic Salad from El Pollo Loco. From the website:

"Choose between deeply marinated fire-grilled chicken or Baja shrimp, then add crisp shredded lettuce blend and authentic corn, pico de gallo salsa, Cotija cheese, corn tortilla strips and fresh cilantro. Served with creamy cilantro dressing."

I found the salad to be generous, tasty, and satisfying. As I pointed out in last year's Grilled Chicken Salad Review for this very same fast food restaurant, the chicken in El Pollo Loco's salads seems completely different in taste and texture from the whole chicken pieces you get at the same restaurant. This chicken is a bit more dry, although that could just be the result of a whole chicken breast cut up and then stored for use during the day. I have no idea.

The prosecutor said he did not think there was sufficient evidence to make the charge stick."

I've shared pics from McDonald's Paris before, way back in 2013. So on a trip this past month I decided to check in and see what is new. These pics are screen grabs from two restaurants, one near Notre  Dame in the Latin Quarter and also some shots from the airport McDonald's at CDG. Hey, fast food is fast food! The Catholic season of Lent, which culminates in Easter Sunday, is meant to be a time for sacrifice and reflection. Catholic children are taught to "give up" something they like during the period. Fasting in olden days has given way to a modern tradition of not eating meat on Fridays during Lent. This particular tradition seems to have triggered a growing tend in fast food marketing. The challenge: how do you capitalize on a large part of your demographic that will otherwise skip your restaurant because your base menu is all meat? The answer: SEAFOOD.

We've seen this coming. Fish sandwiches have been long advertised during Lent. In fact, the McDonald's fish sandwich is said to have been created for this reason. And we started seeing the beginnings of a promotional "season" two years ago. But never before have I seen so many different chains hopping onto this particular bandwagon. Here are just a few from this past week:

Wendy's has been promoting their Premium North Pacific Cod sandwich. Gone are the days of the basic fish sandwich. Like other fast food chains, Wendy's seems to really embrace long names to their new products. Another marketing mini-
