The new Bacon Club Chalupa Big Box at Taco Bell is quite possibly the single best value bang-for-your-buck meal you can order at a fast food restaurant this year. The box comes packed with three menu items and is accompanied by a medium soft drink, all for a promotional price of just $5. Check out what you get in the pictures below.
As you can see, the three menu items fit nicely into the box and are individually wrapped just like they are when you order them any other way (unlike the promo pics where the food is sitting in the box visible and ready to eat.)
The namesake promo item, the Bacon Club Chalupa, was generously stuffed with bacon and chicken, lettuce, tomato, a "three cheese blend," and avocado ranch sauce. I found this taco to be as advertised, although it suffers from the same problem as other chalupas in that the shell is too fat and overwhelms the rest of the tastes. I would've enjoyed this item far more in a regular taco shell. Also, it didn't help that the one I received was light on the sauce.
The middle item is a basic ground beef taco. This Taco Bell classic is just the way I remember it.
The box is rounded out with a Burrito Supreme. Since I don't like sour cream, you can see that this one is without. Still, a beef and bean burrito with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion is never a bad thing. This burrito took up the remaining room in my stomach and left me satisfied.
All in all, three menu items (two very large) and a drink for five bucks is a fantastic deal. I never order "combos" at Taco Bell but this time it was worth it.
