It seems nobody wants to miss a ride on the expensive, gourmet fast food hamburger bandwagon, and that includes celebrity chef Bobby Flay. His "bobby's Burger Palace on the Las Vegas Strip was just calling my name so I stopped by to check it out.
The menu is decidedly straightforward, with several themed sandwiches that could be made with either beef, ground turkey, or chicken. Check out the full menu below.
I opted for the Palace Classic with American Cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. And let's just say I was not disappointed.
You place your order in the queue and they deliver food to your table. This is what I received. It looks like the burger is tiny next to the pickle, but that was a huge pickle. The burger is substantial and arrived hot. The meat was juicy, salty and savory and had me reaching for napkins with every bite.
There are a number of side items. The aptly named "Undecided" gives you a bucket of fries with some onion rings poised precariously on top. The rings were tangy, while the fries were salty and flavorful. Both sides were crispy on the outside, hot and soft on the inside, as it should be.
The restaurant's decor is nothing to write home about. You can see the food being prepared off to the side but the dining room is pretty basic. Every table has a number of sauces to top your sandwich. Aside from ketchup and mustard, there were a number of spicy alternatives including a jalapeno sauce and a spicy bbq.
As you can see from the menu below, the place ain't cheap. However, it was on par with other meals you'd have on the Strip, and I left happy.
