Arby's loves to experiment with mixing and matching their meats about as much as Taco Bell does with their six main ingredients. The latest experiment: taking the existing fried chicken breast from the delicious Chicken, Bacon & Swiss and drenching it in buffalo sauce. How is it? Yummy.
Arriving in a nondescript multi-use box, there is a punchout for Buffalo, suggesting that this sandwich isn't a short-timer. Inside, the fried chicken breast, as mentioned, is the same as they've always had. However, they now tout it as a "buttermilk" crispy breast and use the buttermilk name on four different sandwiches.
The guts of this sandwich are straightforward: chicken breast, buffalo sauce, ranch sauce ("Parmesan Peppercorn Ranch") sitting on top of shredded lettuce, all on a "star cut" bun.
This is your basic buffalo chicken sandwich, no more, no less. I found the mix of flavors satisfying and the overall size is decent. It's about as filling as most of Arby's other sandwiches, so you won't leave feeling stuffed.
