The Panda Express menu is back on FastFoodSource. I captured some images last weekend. Part of our continuing effort to bring fast food menus, with prices, back!
What do you do with leftover grilled onions and cheddar cheese? Well, if you're McDonald's, you slap 'em on a regular hamburger and sell the resulting sandwich for a buck. Introducing the Grilled Onion Cheddar burger, a new entry on the Dollar Menu.
Taking a cue from Taco Bell (the kings at repurposing ingredients), the Arches took what was great about the limited time CBO (which we here at Fast Food Source loved, by the way), and will let the taste linger with some unique toppings on an old standby. While I would prefer to see the CBO, and particularly the Chicken CBO, become a permanent menu item, I am glad to see this on the Dollar Menu. It's an especially welcome value when you consider that the basic burger is 89 cents. For 11 cents more you get a mini specialty sandwich.
YUM! Brands CEO David Novak confirmed rumors today that a Cool Ranch version of the Taco Bell Doritos Loco Taco is heading our way. He made the comment while speaking at the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) meeting in Orlando. There have been speculation and teasers from Taco Bell on their Facebook page for days. For those of you excited by this news - look forward to enjoying more synergy soon. And this also seems to confirm the company's faith that these two brands go well together.
January 15 is National Hat Day here in the U.S., and Arby's has a promotional gimmick tied to a petition to make the traditional 10-gallon hat of the wild west the official hat of America. If you sign their petition, you get a coupon for 50% off the new Chocolate Molten Lava Cake. A bit incongruous I'll admit, but whatever.
Check it out at arbys.com/hatday.
For a limited time, Arby's is offering this funky new turkey sub sandwich melt thing. The Turkey Three Cheese and Bacon sandwich comes on a toasted sub roll. It has melted Swiss and cheddar cheese and a Parmesan cheese sauce, plus bacon for good measure.
I found the sandwich appropriately cheesy, but felt the need to add some honey mustard sauce for more flavor. Maybe it was just too much cheese and it needed something else. Perhaps it would have benefited from a spicy mayo or something else for variety.
The sandwich is also limited to certain locations, so don't be surprised if you don't see it on your local menu. But if you do come across it, it might be worth a try.
